Millar Cameron secures General Manager for horticulture project in Ghana
Technical appointment solves in-house skills gap, and drives new programme forward
A UK based investment firm had put a halt to a greenfield horticulture project in Ghana due to their General Manager role remaining vacant for an extended period of time, costing them time and considerable capital.
The role was incredibly demanding, and would likely require someone in a similar or more senior role to take a step down for future promise. The investment firm had so far been unable to attract the right calibre of candidates for the role.
Millar Cameron quickly took a complete job description from the company, taking time to find out the intricacies of the role, the project and the company - knowing that these would need to be highlighted to any suitable candidate in the future.
Working with our extensive network to create a set of technical and scenario-based questions, Millar Cameron was able to ensure that any candidate presented would be technically proficient in order to compensate for the investment firm’s lack of agricultural knowledge.
Utilising a set of unique selling points and technical questions, Millar Cameron was able to source a suitable candidate that was not only an excellent technical fit, but was motivated by the project and what the company wanted to achieve. The project has since been able to resume operations with the appointment of this position.
