Sourcing a CEO for an established Ugandan poultry operation
Millar Cameron helped a private equity firm secure key talent for a newly acquired family business
An established Private Equity firm recently required an experienced CEO to oversee its recent investments into the East African Poultry market. They needed someone who understood all operational aspects of the poultry industry, but also would need somebody who would be able to provide insights into this immature market to fulfill the client’s ambitious growth projections.
Working closely with a variety of key members of the company and external consultants, Millar Cameron drew a clear picture of the key skillset that would be needed. Millar Cameron quickly understood that they would need to implement an intensive headhunt campaign in order to identify an appropriate shortlist.
Working with the stakeholders, Millar Cameron was able to create a set of intensive interview questions in order to effectively screen potential candidates. This helped ensure that only the highest calibre of candidates would be presented to the firm.
After a rigorous interview process with a number of suitable candidates from the shortlist, involving meeting key decision makers and a country visit to see the operation, a decision was made and the CEO was appointed.
Eager to take on the opportunity, the new CEO quickly resigned from his past role and was ready to take up his post and drive the company forward.
