Millar Cameron Finds Experienced Buyer to Drive Sales and Expand Sourcing in the Mediterranean Basin
Recruiting a Buyer to manage a portfolio of imported products from the Mediterranean Basin
A fresh produce business required an experienced buyer in order to increase sales and offer a wider product range. With growing demand across Europe, it became increasingly difficult to supply customers with their products due to the seasonality and availability of the produce.
This had been attempted before by the company, however problems had occurred when the wrong people had been appointed who did not share the company culture, causing a hindered relationship with the supplier.
Millar Cameron began discussions with the Managing Director to gain a complete understanding of the role and what was required. The successful candidate would not only need to prove their capabilities as a Buyer, but also would need to show the right interpersonal skills to successfully build new client relationships.
Millar Cameron began by approaching buyers from other fresh produce companies on an international scale, focusing on those who had already gained experience of sourcing products from the target markets.
After the interviews had been carried out an offer was made to the stand out candidate that had impressed the client throughout the interview process.
After accepting their offer, the new Buyer was eager to get straight to work and currently supplies their clients with produce sourced from the Mediterranean Basin. The company is now able to offer a wider range of products, as well as filling their growing demand.
