Millar Cameron Secures Managerial Talent Despite Ebola Outbreak
New manager needed to increase competitiveness of Cameroonian branch of global logistics business.
Following the West African ebola outbreak, a global logistics firm was forced to send their expatriate staff back to Europe and their operations were spread thin. Their performance within West Africa was now solely reliant on their operations in Cameroon which had previously been ineffective at gaining a suitable market share.
The company needed to bring in an experienced Agency Manager who was a strong performer in the West African region and able to take on the operational management, but also utilise commercial acumen to increase the performance and profitability of the Cameroonian operations.
Due to the time sensitive nature of the role, Millar Cameron knew that we would need to identify professionals with the relevant experience who were available immediately.
Millar Cameron targeted candidates working in the logistics industry, specifically focusing within the ports, shipping or handling supply chain in a rural environment; especially those who could call upon a developed network of contacts and could deliver the growth needed in an ever changing landscape.
Millar Cameron was able to identify a shortlist of candidates with excellent reputations within the marketplace as well as being available immediately.
Impressed with the selection, the logistics business offered the Agency Manager role to a preferred candidate, who accepted within three weeks of the presentation of the shortlist. Millar Cameron supported the new recruit along each step of the process and in the weeks after his start to ensure a successful transition into the business.
