Part of the Private Infrastructure Development Group (PIDG), InfraCo is funded by the governments of Switzerland (via SECO), the Netherlands (via DGIS), and the UK (via DFID), however, it is managed as a private company. This structure allows InfraCo to achieve a unique balance between commercial viability and development impact, investing public risk capital into high-quality infrastructure projects in frontier markets when the costs and risks are too high for the private sector. Its goal is to alleviate poverty in these markets by mobilizing private sector expertise and finance to develop infrastructure projects that catalyze economic development. It achieves this by either funding project developers to originate and progress projects on its behalf, or by investing directly into projects.
InfraCo’s Business Development team possesses deep expertise in the technologies it develops, in governance, and in project finance and contracting. The team is responsible for the origination, development, and eventual exit of projects.
