Raising The Village is a non-profit organisation dedicated to helping rural communities in sub-Saharan Africa overcome ultra-poverty. Raising The Village partners with last-mile farming communities in Sub-Saharan Africa over 24 months, crafting sustainable pathways to prosperity through a multi-dimensional programme model.
About the role
This is a new role created as a strategic move to strengthen the organisation's operational capacity and ensure sustainable growth. Leading an existing team across Uganda and Rwanda, the Regional Director of Operations will report directly to the CEO and support an ambitious growth and expansion strategy which could see the organisation quadruple in size within the next two years.
In order to support this growth and minimise risks associated with expansion, the Regional Director of Operations will consolidate and optimise various functions (operations, procurement, logistics, health, safety and security) while building cohesive teams and working closely with Raising The Village leadership to deliver cost-effective, high-impact, data-driven and scalable programmes.
The organisation requires a strong leader with at least twelve years of experience leading complex multi-country operations across sub-Saharan Africa. The ideal candidate will have external benchmarking experience having worked with National, Regional and International Stakeholders.
Key dimensions of the role
The Regional Director of Operations will oversee a wide range of operational responsibilities, managing teams across government relations, logistics, and compliance while working closely with other key teams across the region.
This role involves working closely with other senior leaders to drive operational efficiency, strategy and innovation.
Daily responsibilities include leading, managing, and coordinating Country Managers and government relations functions in-country to ensure smooth cross-functional collaboration and alignment with organisational goals.
The Regional Director of Operations is responsible for building robust operational systems, ensuring compliance with regional and global standards, logistics, health and safety and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
With Raising The Village’s commitment to an adaptive and learning-oriented approach, this role will advance the organisation’s operational strategy, supporting regional and global expansion plans, strengthening government relations and ensuring operational excellence at all levels.
