Our client, a leading international agricultural insurance & technology company (11 countries, 3.4M farmers insured), is currently looking for a Relationships Manager who will be in charge business development and network building with donor organizations, development agencies and NGOs.
The role is mainly focused around the finding and/or creation of insurance projects funded by donor organization & development agencies.
In the event that programs are executed by NGOs, the role will involve insurance proposals with the NGO in advance and submit a budget to the donor for an insurance component to the project.
We are looking for someone with a high-level of ownership and the ability to work with minimal supervision. This person will need to be agile and explorative by nature.
The candidate will be ideally based in Europe and working remotely.
Main responsibilities include the following:
Market Research on the donors and development agencies that are focused on smallholder farmers. Further work is required on this level as this will enable the company to make better informed decisions around where to focus the business development.
Business Development approaching target organizations, qualify opportunities and close partnerships with NGOs focused on supporting the smallholder farmer globally.
The ideal profile required for the role includes the following:
Significant experience in writing funding proposals and building partnerships with donor organizations as well as a solid experience in building partnerships with NGOs – both with a focus on climate change, development and/or agriculture.
Good knowledge of the agricultural sector and understanding of insurance is preferred.
Polished presentation skills and able to speak the language of NGOs.
Excellent business development skills
Excellent market research skills in country evaluation, market sizing, sector analysis…etc.
English proficient ideally knowledge of French or Portuguese.
